Land Art with Ruth Brotherton – FREE Community Event

Learn how to create beautiful, temporary artworks from natural materials, in amongst the inspiring woodlands of Broughton Sanctuary.

Drop in any time between 10am and 3pm

In this creative drop-in session, you will be guided to explore the natural environment, focusing in particular on elements of line, shape, colour, pattern and texture. Through collecting and selecting materials found on the woodland floor, such as leaves, flowers, twigs or seeds, you will create varied pieces at ground level or hanging up in the trees. You will be invited to work mindfully and gain a sense of nature connectedness: slowing down, stepping back and opening the senses.

Land Art is art made entirely with natural materials found in the woodlands. It is ephemeral and impermanent – designed to decay and return to the environment from where it came.
