Rewild the Land with Joel Bachelor
These weekly volunteering events have a morning session from 9am until 12:30pm and an afternoon session from 1:30pm to 4:30pm. If you would like to volunteer your whole day then please book both sessions. Lunch will be provided at 1pm between the sessions.
Rewild the Land
Contribute your morning, afternoon, or even your whole day to the ongoing rewilding project at the sanctuary. You will be trained and guided by our resident nature recovery ranger, Joel Batchelor, who has personally planted thousands of trees here on the land. Activities will include but are not limited to, new and existing woodland maintenance, fence line removal and repairs, seasonal tree planting and fruit picking, leaky dam and habitat creation, hedge laying and coppicing, and much more.
About Joel Batchelor
Originally from Somerset, Joel has lived in Yorkshire for the past 10 years and has worked at Broughton Sanctuary for 2 years. His skills as a trained Arborist have been crucial during the tree planting phase of the rewilding project here on the estate. Joel is intrinsically connected to the nature recovery and has a wealth of knowledge, skills, and a knack for guiding others of all abilities.
Full details of tasks, what will be provided and what to bring with you will be sent via email beforehand.
