Winter Solstice Ceremony – The Light Born from Darkness
Join the Avalon community for a heart-opening Winter Solstice ceremony led by our co-founder, Paris Tempest. As we gather in darkness around a seasonal earth altar, illuminated by soft candlelight, we are invited to sit together, to process and alchemise the year that has passed, and to strengthen the radiant field of our heart and our connection to spirit.
Across many ancient cultures, this moment was known as Yule — a midwinter threshold honouring the longest night and the quiet rebirth of the light. For many, the Winter Solstice marks a truer beginning of the new year, a time aligned with the natural cycles of the earth. As the land rests and the world turns inward in its season of dreaming, we too are called to pause, reflect on the harvest of our experiences, acknowledge what has been completed or left undone, and prepare our inner landscape for the returning light. This sacred moment invites us to sharpen our arrows of intention, choose our direction for the coming cycle, and reconnect with the deeper arc of our soul’s journey.
This ceremony is a non-dogmatic, open-to-all space created with intention and reverence. The evening will be held within a beautifully curated energetic container at Avalon – complete with a devotional altar, blessings, ritual space, and an atmosphere infused with soulfulness and magic. Together, we will come home to our hearts, soften the body through gentle somatic movement, create spaciousness with breath-work and meditation, receive and realign with the ethereal vibrations of alchemy crystal bowls and gong, rest into moments of stillness and reflection, and pour our prayers and intentions into the sacred fire.
If you are seeking ritual, community, or a place to offer prayers and gratitude as you deepen on your path, this gathering is a sacred invitation to step in.
Light refreshments will be shared. We are kindly requesting arrival from 5.30pm so we are ready to begin promptly at 6pm. Please bring suitable clothing and footwear to walk outside to close our ceremony at the Fire Temple.
