Movement Culture & Creation

Saturday 23 March 2018

10am to 4pm

The culture is movement. The philosophy is just move. The goal is movement + creation.

Workshop leader Ryan Harston is a professional movement practitioner and motion development artist. In 2013 Ryan suffered a life changing back injury which set him up on the quest of rehabilitation, recovery and resolve. Now fully recovered, Ryan has set up his own movement culture + creation classes with the emphasis on recuperation and kinetic development through practice, performance and precision. Ryan’s wish is to help others live with more freedom and less pain in the body.

In this workshop Ryan explores these questions:

  • How well are we moving?
  • How in-tune are we with our bodies?
  • How connected are we with our minds?

With Movement Culture + Creation there is no right or wrong way, there is no judgement, there is no magic formula. There is just exploration. Involvement and Insight.

With a strong background in gymnastics, dance, parkour and athletics Ryan uses his varied knowledge to create classes, workshops and events across the U.K that guide, instruct and develop participants of all ranges of movement to an understanding of moving effectively and efficiently.

Training under the likes of world renowned movement specialists Ido Portal and Tom Merrick. Ryan has developed a vast understanding of technique, process and methodology that he explores with his own twist, creating a series of invigorating environments and exercises investigating kinetic development, posture, strength and physicality.

Each workshop is designed to develop a deeper understanding of movement culture through technique, process and practice. With an emphasis revolved around; adaptation, isolation, stillness, alignment, breath, strength, speed, flow, reaction, balance and posture.
