Join Cristina Chandika Ma and Jo Fellows at this nourishing, uplifting and energising time to embrace the Summer Solstice – this seasonal transition that helps to keep us close to the rhythms of nature and help us to remember we are part of a much bigger picture. It’s the perfect time to heal, and truly celebrate the height of summer's light and warmth, welcoming and relishing that energy within ourselves.

Practice yoga and meditation, walk in ancient woods, breathe pure air, swim in natural pools and enjoy fresh local delicious food, sleep deeply, feel in tune with nature and the body’s energy clock. Or simply relax by the pool, or stroll through the beautiful countryside in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

This warm invitation is open for everyone traveling alone or with friends, new to yoga or practicing for decades. Our retreat includes morning and afternoon yoga classes, Reiki, walks in nature, wild swimming, use of the indoor pool and sauna, and delicious, freshly-prepared meals. Other treatments are available from Avalon’s experienced therapists.

This is the time you get to devote yourself to a daily yoga practice, experience healing, contemplate and meditate. A time to think only of yourself and your wellbeing, to connect within, breathe consciously, relaxing and allowing endless inspiration to flood in. Enter into a world of being rather than doing. Deepen your enquiry into mindfulness by retreating from everyday life, from your usual habits and from other people’s expectations.
Summer Solstice is the time to honour the spirit of the sun, celebrate the light, with sunrise walks and meditations, sun salutes to the sun to the sound of drums. Free your body and mind from old patterns and fears and set new intentions from a place of power and love.

Connect with the raw power of nature – immerse yourself in natural sounds and the ambience of the stunning sanctuary of the 3,000-acre Broughton Hall Estate on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales – a wonderful opportunity for you to relax your mind, rejuvenate your body and reawaken your spirit.

Your leaders Cristina Chandika Ma and Jo Fellows

Cristina Chandika Ma is the founder and teacher of The Yoga Bunch. She has studied and practiced yoga for the past 20 years and holds the highest level of certification by Yoga Alliance professionals UK – senior yoga teacher (SYT).

She is a resident yoga teacher at the award-winning Bamford Haybarn spa in Daylesford, Gloucestershire, where she teaches yoga and meditation classes, workshops and retreats.

Cristina’s teachings are based in the unity of body, mind and soul, through deep asana, powerful alignment, mudra, pranayama, meditation and mantra. She is an innovative, visionary spirit with a deep devotion to heart alchemy. Her life mission is to ignite transformation and healing.

 

Jo Fellows is an advanced yoga teacher (Yoga Alliance International), Reiki master/teacher and meditation teacher (BSoM). Her classes and treatments are designed to revitalise your spirit and restore balance to your mind and body.

She teaches yoga, reiki and meditation classes at Bamford Haybarn Spa, Cheltenham Pilates & Yoga studios, The Hive and the Isbourne Holistic Centre.

Teaching with great sensitivity, compassion and care, Jo is committed to teaching and empowering anyone who is on their journey to seek themselves and their joy whether through yoga, reiki or meditation.
