Posted @withregram • @rewildingdriver Here is the Sky News item from yesterday on the natural flood management work that I am overseeing at #broughtonhall Estate. This £50K worth of work is part of the £116 million Leeds Flood Alleviation scheme. Here at Broughton we are integrating it with massive scale tree planting and other interventions to kick-start the rewilding of at least 1000 acres of the 3000 acre estate. It’s a good example of joining up government funding for flood risk management and for carbon sequestration to help tackle climate and biodiversity crises simultaneously whilst providing a healthier and more natural environment for people to enjoy.
