Gentle Yoga

Sally Rae

For Sally yoga has been a lifelong practice and for a long time a necessary antidote to the stresses of an international management career. Permanently exchanging a laptop for a yoga mat, she began a second career sharing her passion for yoga and its many benefits with her students.

Her early yoga practice began in the Iyengar tradition training with Swati and Ravi Chanchari in India. As part of a foundation course with the British Wheel of Yoga Sally discovered Ashtanga Vinyasa, her practice for 15 years, taught by Joey Miles in Leeds and Stefan Engstrom in Finland.

Sally practises the yoga of Vanda Scaravelli which focuses on rediscovering natural movement of the body, studying with the inspirational Diane Long in Italy and other Scaravelli yoga teachers.

She has completed a Zen meditation teaching course which she incorporates into her practice and teachings. Her accessible approach encourages students to rediscover the joy of improved mobility in their body’s natural movements. She is certified to teach by the Sivananda school of yoga which is recognised by the Yoga Alliance authority.
