About the Training

The Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT) Guides and Programs is the most experienced global leader in Forest Therapy Guide Training, promoting the development and practice of Forest Therapy.

 

With a Relational Forest Therapy approach, the ANFT Forest Therapy Guide Training:
  • focuses on rebuilding relationships with the More-Than-Human World as a foundation for healing people and planet: and
  • draws on the latest medical research, new developments in the field of nature connection and ancient traditions.

Guide Training Immersion at Broughton Sanctuary

This four-day in-person immersion is the second part of the Forest Therapy Guide Training. (for more details about the first part of the training, please see here).

During this immersion, you will:
  • Get a hands-on experience of what you learned
  • Experience in-person forest therapy walks
  • Get to know trainers personally
  • Connect with other guides
  • Learn from shared experiences with other guides
  • Deepen into the practice
  • Get the opportunity to ask specific questions that might come up

Immersion Trainers

Geeta Stilwell

Geeta Stilwell: works globally with various populations that range from the general public, corporate senior and junior teams, schools, families, mental health populations and individuals recovering from situations of excess stress and resulting depression and anxiety. Geeta is based in Portugal and the founder of the company Renature where she creates and facilitates restorative programs that promote wellbeing and health through Forest Therapy, nature connection practices, clean eating and self-care. She is also the ANFT Extension Coordinator and an ANFT Trainer

Liz Dawes

Liz is based at Broughton Sanctuary as the in-house Forest Therapy Guide at Avalon Wellbeing, where she offers forest bathing walks, rewilding tours, mindfulness sessions, nature and meditation retreats and nature-based team-building away-days & retreats. As a former corporate lawyer, Liz changed track in 2012 and her passion now lays in supporting people to slow down, and come into healthier relationship with themselves, with others and with the natural environment.

Accommodation

Accommodation is available in 4 different beautifully restored cottages located at Broughton Sanctuary. Higher Scarcliffe, Yellison, Stable Cottage and Mill Cottage Shared and single occupancy with ensuite / shared bathrooms options are available on a first come, first served basis.

Meals

All meals throughout the immersion are provided. A set vegetarian menu will be prepared by on-site chefs and delivered to either Higher Scarcliffe or Yellison for communal dining.

Cost

Prices range from £425 to £725 per person and include 4-nights’ accommodation from and including 29th May and all meals. (This price does not include the tuition fee).

Schedule Details

Arrival

Check in is from 4pm to 6.30pm on 29th May 2023.
Dinner on the evening of 29th May is included in the price.
Program begins at 8.30am on 30th May. (Check-in on 30th May is not available)

Departure

Program ends after lunch at 2pm on 2nd June 2023.

Step Two:
