At Thrive, our trainers have themselves experienced transformative weight loss and fitness journeys so all aspects of the retreat have been designed with the understanding and perspective of lived experience.  We appreciate the varied demands of daily life so our approach is centred around applying the most effective, enjoyable and easily integrated means of boosting your fitness, health and overall wellbeing.

About the Thrive Team

Thrive’s approach to experiencing fitness differently has been shaped by founder trainers Robbie Barlow and Veryan Dexter own fitness journey. They both faced the challenge of integrating fitness and healthy lifestyle choices alongside full-time jobs and the demands of family life.

Robbie struggled with his weight for over a decade before ultimately losing 100lbs (representing one third of his total bodyweight). Veryan finally learnt how to maintain a lean and consistent body shape and composition after her weight and wellbeing fluctuated dramatically whilst having 3 children within a 5-year period.

The Thrive team are trained not only in fitness, but also nutrition and fitness for mental health, and Thrive retreats uniquely share the knowledge they gained over a decade of lived experience. Robbie and Veryan understand how a commitment to positive, daily lifestyle adjustments plus education in the science of fitness, nutrition and wellbeing can lead to tangible results in health, weight and bodyshape alongside a huge boost to energy, productivity and mental health.

Thrive retreats are also a place to relax, recharge and enjoy good food, so our retreat schedule is designed with a range of exercise options, a rest and recovery programme, and evening entertainment.

Breakfast at Utopia

9.30am - 11.00am

Hybrid workout in studio: HIIT & weights

11.00am - 12.00pm

Free time

12.15am - 1.00pm

Lunch

Cardio activity - Broughton team games

3.30pm- 5.30pm

Rest and recovery session - wild swimming, woodland sauna and ice barrels

6.00pm- 7.30pm

Free time (Avalon spa facilities open for use)
